Firecracker Chile

Ingredients
3 (1 lb.) cans dark red kidney beans, rinsed & drained
1½ lbs. ground beef, browned and drained
¼ cup butter
1 clove garlic, minced
1 large onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 (15 oz.) can tomatoes
1 tsp salt
2 Tbsp. chile powder (more or less to taste)
½ tsp. crushed red pepper
1 tsp. oregano
¼ cup fresh parsley, minced
1 tsp. cumin
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 stick cinnamon
½ tsp. ground cloves
1 large can pitted olives, optional
Dash of paprika and dash cayenne
1 bay leaf
Instructions
Sauté onion, green pepper, and garlic in butter until soft. Add beans, tomatoes, tomato sauce and all seasonings. Add kidney beans and ground beef. Simmer, covered on low for 1 hour. Add a little water if mixture becomes dry as it cooks. Remove bay leaf and cinnamon stick before serving. Serves 8-10.
